Feb. 12 - Friday 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM "Come Play With Appliques" 4 hours Workshop with Gale H. Polk No stress, well low stress , introduction to applique. Freezer paper play with simple designs using APPLIQUE and reverse applique. Applique gives you freedom to soften the look of piecing, adds interest to borders and dresses up basic quilts. It's relaxing and fun! You get to play with fabric and color. We'll look at circles that are really round and tiny easy stems. Really! Coloring books for adults are all the rage right now but we will have all the pleasure of a relaxing hobby while getting to play with fabric. Beats coloring any day! DOWNLOAD: Supply list. $35.00

"Fearless mixing of bold prints, patterns and colors." 4 hours Workshop with Maya Schönenberger 
Get your big and bold prints out, select your crazy stripes or whatever other favorite fabrics you never thought you would dared to mix and bring them to class. Bring hand dyes and or commercial fabrics as well. The secret is in the diversity of your fabrics, colors and patterns. We dare to combine these fabrics, stitch them together with a flip and sew method. Fearless mono printing, stamping or direct painting on top your fabrics will bring it all together. Stitching will add an embellished interest. We will create sample fabrics that can be used to create functional pieces such as an Ipad cover, or stitched together to create a bigger piece. If you like flowers you will enjoy this class. We are creating a flower meadow out of non woven and woven materials in a fun raw edge applique technique. This is a fast and relaxing technique using your sewing machine. It is also a fun and easy class for the more traditional quilter, who would like to get their feet wet and try art quilts.
